Al’s NDE Age 9
Al was nine, staring at the ceiling, struggling with the rheumatic fever he’d had for more than six months. He was listening to the doctor speaking with his mother in a hushed voice in the next room when the wave of pain hit again, indescribably excruciating. Whenever the pain became this intense, My Lady came (as he called her) would come for him. This was the one thing that got him through it. She would lift him, and he was suddenly weightless and painfree. They would travel far away into worlds he’d never known or heard of, exquisitely beautiful, as she explained things in ways that made his heart sing. Again, this night was as all the others with her, he clasped her outstretched and she lifted him out of his body and out of the pain.
However, when she returned him this time, it was not to his body as usual. Instead, they hovered just above the rooftop of his house. He could see inside. He saw his mother weeping alone in the kitchen, his body lying still on the living room sofa where they had moved him. As My Lady showed him the scene, Al knew he was being given a choice: “Leave with her to remain in life beyond, evidently free to traverse the worlds she’d shown him or perhaps even more, or return to his body and the pain, to his mother and the lifetime ahead.” His love for his mother, not wanting to cause her sorrow, urged his return.
My Lady never came again but neither did the ferocious attacks of pain. Against the odds the doctor had spoken of with his mother that night in the kitchen, over the coming months he recovered.
Though Al did not recall the NDE at the time of the first hypnosis session with Dr. Winkler, he attributes the NDE and the other trips with My Lady to his ease and depth of journeying into the infinite for the readings, particularly the last journey in which she took him to a beautiful pathway and into a shining experience beyond, indescribable for a nine-year-old and nearly so even at 82 and all his journeys.
